Adopt An ʻŌhiʻa Tree

For less than $50 per year, you can ensure that an ‘ōhi‘a tree lives on through its keiki. Your sustained donation will allow thousands of seeds collected from an ‘ōhi‘a tree to be secured at one Hawai‘i Seed Bank Partnership facility and backed up at another, for long-term preservation and future restoration efforts.

With a $175 one-time gift, you can enable Hawai‘i Seed Bank Partnership facility staff to make a new seed collection from one wild ‘ōhi‘a tree in the forests on each island, helping us contribute to statewide goals of banking seeds from 10,000 trees of each type of ‘ōhi‘a.

Choose the seed bank below that you wish to support. To adopt trees from multiple islands, please donate to each seed bank individually. *DOFAW Kauaʻi will be coming soon!

Laukahi has a growing number of partners that help to implement the Hawai‘i Strategy for Plant Conservation by supporting our initiatives, conducting field work to protect native habitats, propagate and secure propagules in ex situ facilities, and do research to inform strategies.

Mahalo to all our partners!
