ʻŌhiʻa Seed Collections

Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death  (RAPIDOHIADEATH.ORG) is killing thousands of acres of trees on Hawaiʻi Island.

Research is ongoing on the cause, prevention, and treatment of this new threat to our forests.

Collections of ʻōhiʻa seeds must be urgently secured for future restoration efforts.

Seed

A partnership of Hawai‘iʻs seed banks and conservation groups is working to collect seeds.

For information on how to save seeds from ‘ōhiʻa trees in your yard, please check out the Landowner’s Guide and the  ʻŌhiʻa Facts.

Contact the Laukahi Network Coordinator at: coordinator@laukahi.org.

Laukahi has a growing number of partners that help to implement the Hawai‘i Strategy for Plant Conservation by supporting our initiatives, conducting field work to protect native habitats, propagate and secure propagules in ex situ facilities, and do research to inform strategies.

Mahalo to all our partners!
